Mills Supporting The Community

At Mills, we believe strongly in the significance of giving back to the community and supporting others. We host annual events such as our Telecoms Charity Golf Day to raise funds for various charities focused on specific causes such as a Baby Bereavement Centre, Rehabilitation Garden and The Greggs Foundation. Additionally we organize Christmas jumper days, where employees contribute by donating money to worthwhile causes, produce numerous social campaigns where we raise funds for charities and also attend charity quiz nights.

What's Next... Charity Support 2025

We are already planning for our 2025 charity fundraising events including our annual Charity Golf Day. Next year we will be raising money and supporting The Hillingdon Hospitals Charity. Previously we have helped raise money for their Bereavement ward and Rehabillitation Garden, the next project is to refurb their Neonatol Maternity department as it is in desperate need of improvements for new parents and their newborns.

More updates on this coming soon!

Pinkwell Primary School Enterprise Week October 2024

We were delighted to support Enterprise Week at Pinkwell Primary School, Hayes, West London last week.
Designed to develop an understanding of business and promote budding entrepreneurs at the local school, Mills Ltd was invited to support ‘’Year 6 pupils’ to give them an overview of how Mills have developed and changed their fourth generation business which was originally established in 1918.
To compete in Pinkwell Primary School Enterprise Week the 10 & 11 year olds were divided into 18 teams of 5 pupils and provided with £40 each, with the winners being the team that made the most profit after repaying their £40 loan.
Jerry and Elliot received different ideas from the pupils, including products, such as Halloween cookies, customised key rings, Pick’n’Mix sweet cones, colour die scrunchies, customised bracelets, and services including car washing, prize scoring football, ring toss and many more.
Armed with marketing, production and selling ideas from the Mills team, the pupils were given 5 days to make their products and develop their services before selling them on the Friday to parents, teachers and their fellow students.
Incredibly after paying back their loans the winning team which sold Halloween and Diwali decorated cup cakes made a profit of £100, with the complete year making over £700 after repayment of the loan!
An amazing achievement with the £700 profit being put towards the end of year summer school trip.

Telecoms Charity Day 2023

The Telecoms Charity Golf Day 2023 raised an amazing £38,000 for The Hillingdon Hospitals Charity. The charity will use the funds towards the new Jubilee Rehabilitation Garden, which will be designed by Tom Stuart-Smith Chelsea flower show gold medal winner. Due to the nature of neurological injuries, patients needing inpatient rehabilitation or require a longer hospital length stay (often for weeks or months). Environment is an important factor in recovery, both physically and mentally, during the patient's rehabilitation journey. The Jubilee Rehabilitation Garden will provide the support needed to aid in patients recovery.

In May 2024 Jerry, Hayley, Amie and Andreea went to Hillingdon Hospital to assist in planting areas of the garden and we look forward to seeing it complete and open to patients!

Telecomms Charity Day 2022

In 2022 The Telecoms Charity Golf Day raised an amazing £30,000 in aid of The Hillingdon Hospitals Charity! The money raised will be supporting the development of a new Baby Bereavement Centre in the labour ward of the hospital. The unit will take losses from 16 weeks gestation and onwards and they will be cared for in the new suite. The family will use this delivery suite to give birth and spend time with their baby afterwards, providing a private and a peaceful space. The suite will have access to its own outdoor garden space. The room will be designed so that it is sound proofed, affords privacy, and gives space.

We are so thrilled to be apart of such an amazing day raising money for such an impactful cause!
