The Mills LanCaster and LanCaster1000 Cable Testers & Wire Map Certifier
You have a fault on one of your cable runs, but which end is it? Half the time you'll guess wrong and needlessly re-terminate a good connection. A simple wire map tester won't tell you and you don't want to tie up an expensive cable certifier and skilled operator for relatively simple fault-finding (see the article Save Time by Testing Smart)

Enter the LanCaster and LanCaster1000, professional structured cabling testers and trouble shooters designed to speed up the on-site testing of data and voice networks. The LanCasters identify all common wiring faults (short circuit pair, open circuit wire, short between pairs, split or cross pairs, shield contnuity) and will even tell you which end some types of fault are at as well as telling you how long the link under test is. They will also test for active services before testing to prevent disruption to a live network. They also have a built in tone generator for cable tracing which can be detected using a standard probe receiver.

The LanCaster1000 goes even further. It can tell you the length of all 4 pairs and the distance to the fault up to 150m away.

The LanCaster1000 also has the ability to store up to 1000 test results which can be downloaded to a PC for producing customised test certificates with your company logo etc.

Results can also be embedded in an email message and can be stored in HTML format to allow them to be viewed at a later date using a web browser.

Both LanCasters are supplied with one remote unit with a further 15 coded remotes available as options. Unlike competitor products the LanCaster remotes are active and indicate if a test has passed or failed.
